The Morning Advertiser PubChef Awards 2010

Category - Game Chef of the Year

We are very proud to announce that The Sandrock, and in particular Carol, has been short-listed down to three chefs at The Morning Advertiser PubChef Awards 2010, in the Game PubChef of the Year category. As part of this we will be attending a cook off in January and an awards ceremony in March to find out which lucky chef has won. The chef that wins each category will also go forward to the PubChef of the Year Award.

Carol's dish was Medieval pheasant stew with currants, a mushroom and chestnut pudding and "Wortes", a picture of Carol's dish can be found below. Each chef was also surprised with a box of ingredients from which they had to prepare a dessert, Carol made carameslised plums with cinnamon and mascarpone, plum and port compote and chocolate mousse, a picture of Carol's dessert can also be found below.

Having attended the award ceremony of the 11th of March 2010 we unfortunately found out that we didn't win this time, although being short-listed down to three pubs out of the 58000 pubs in this Country is fantastic. You will find an article from The Morning Advertiser below, which features the three finalists in the Game Chef of the Year category, there is also a mock up of the front cover of the PubChef magazine featuring a picture of David and Carol taken at the awards ceremony.
