Traditional Finger Buffets

A selection of nibbles that you can eat without a plate or cutlery including:- Mixed platters of sandwiches with fillings such as gammon ham, rare roast beef, roast pork, mature cheddar and chutney, chicken and red pesto, smoked salmon and cream cheese, prawn salad, free range egg (all meats are home roasted).


Mini pittas with spicy lamb or chicken: mini bagels with smoked bacon and tomato or smoked salmon and cream cheese: mini croissants with Parma ham and basil or tomato and mozzarella: homemade sausage rolls with mustard and parsley: various tartlets, mini quiches and mini pizzas: crostinis with bacon and mushrooms or cherry tomatoes and blue cheese: garlic and herb chicken drumsticks and mini herb sausage kebabs: tortilla wraps with houmous or taramasalata: etc.


Our traditional finger buffet costs £8 per head. this style of menu is ideal for groups that are standing. It encourages people to mingle and is perfect for informal parties. All the plates are garnished with colourful salads for visual impact and presentation. These can be served in house at The Sandrock or can be delivered to your house ready for you to unwrap or alternatively we can provide serving staff at extra cost.

Special Buffets

A selection of the above with additional items such as: hot king prawns in filo pastry with sweet chilli sauce: vegetable spring rolls with a soya sauce dip: duck pancakes with hoi-sin sauce: spicy chicken and mange-tout sticks: samosas with mango sauce: prawn skewers with seafood sauce: mixed plates of crudities or gado gado with dips or spicy peanut sauce: desserts items are also available. Cost per head is £10

Canapes

Canapes are easy to serve in any situation. They consist of trays of elegant bite size pieces that create more of a cocktail party environment.

Dishes might include salmon and caviar blinis, homemade sushi and sashimi platters, soup sips in shot glasses, cucumber flowers with sea relish and carrot pate: Oriental spoons filled with spicy king praws and stir fried vegetables: Spicy chicken breast wrapped in mange tout on sticks: Asparagus tips wrapped in Parma ham, dressed in basil oil: mini duck pancakes with hoi-sin sauce: prawn cocktail in a shot glass, with tiny forks: mini Fois Gras broiche toasts with fig and orange jelly: Thai fishcakes forks, with coriander leaves: miniature crab tarts with lime yoghurt dressing: crostini with smoked bacon and mushrooms or strong cheese, red peppers and basil: king prawns in filo pastry with sweet chilli sauce dip:

Mini vegetable or duck spring rolls with soy sauce: red chillies stuffed with cream cheese and garlic: mini burgers in tiny buns: mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and horseradish creme fraiche: mini kebabs with spicy meats or vegetarian kebabs with courgette and haloumi: strawberries, cherries and physalis dipped in dark and shite chocolate presented in a melon swan: fruit sips, chilled fruit smoothies in shot glasses: mini fruit tarts and shortbreads with creme fraiche and raspberries, etc.

Price depends on the number of pieces per person and the type of things offered, obviously the more seafood the more expensive. From £12.95 per head. Along with canapes we can serve trays of Champagne or sparkling wine, pink and white, as your guests arrive. We have an excellent sparkling wine, a brut made in the Methode Champagnois and only £16.95 per bottle. Champagne starts at £24.95 per bottle and we can supply from many vineyards and vintages.

Serving staff are charged at £12 per hour.
